The sensor hub board for Project Aura
The original Project Aura requires several breakouts and a mesh of cables. Aura PCB replaces 4 Adafruit boards and several other parts (wires, capacitors, screws…) with a single PCB — fewer parts to source, less clutter, and cheaper overall.
Here's what's on the board:
- Barometric pressure sensor
- Real-time clock with coin-cell backup (CR1220, not included)
- Connector port for the main sensor (SEN66)
- I²C ports for Aura-supported optional sensors (CO and HCHO)
- Pin headers for future upgrades
- Voltage regulator, pull-up resistors, decoupling capacitors, crystal, and other parts
- Red PCB · ENIG finish · lead-free
You can also order it direct from the PCBWay project page. Ordering Assembled Aura PCB from us is cheaper for one or two boards. The Bare PCB option is the absolute cheapest, if you source the parts and solder yourself.
A clean replacement for the breakout-board jungle in a typical Aura build:
- PCF8523 real-time clock with CR1220 coin-cell backup so date and time survive a power-off (cell not included; sells for €1–2 at any watch shop)
- BMP388 barometric pressure and altitude sensor
- Direct SEN66 connector (JST GH 1.25 mm) — the Sensirion SEN66 plugs straight in, with no Adafruit breakout or adapter cable in between
- I²C connectors for the optional Aura add-ons — CO, formaldehyde, and the 0–10 V ventilation DAC — in place of a separate STEMMA QT / Qwiic hub and its cables
- DIP switches to enable or disable the on-board pull-up resistors
- AP2112K 3.3 V regulator giving the SEN66 its own clean supply rail
- The supporting parts — capacitors, the RTC crystal, and the small glue components — already on the board, so there's nothing extra to wire
For exact part numbers, supplier links, and quantities, see the Bare PCB option above — even if you're ordering the assembled version, it's a transparent view of what's inside.
